In 2022, we partnered with Retrieving Freedom to sponsor a very special service dog in training—Chiver. Over the past three years, we’ve watched him grow from a playful puppy into a devoted, highly trained service dog, ready to change someone’s life. We didn’t know who his future family would be, but we trusted that when the time was right, Chiver would find exactly where he belonged.

That moment has arrived.

This month, Retrieving Freedom officially placed Chiver with a Marine Corps veteran named David. After passing their Public Access Test together, David and Chiver are now a certified service dog team—and it’s already clear that this match was meant to be.

Chiver has quickly become David’s loyal companion, supporting him through physical and emotional challenges and bringing joy to everyday moments—whether it's pond swims, Jeep rides, or snuggles at home. David, his wife Renee, and even Chiver’s two new feline sisters (who are still deciding how they feel about all this) have welcomed him with open arms.
