This summer, Nicole will have surgery on the tendons in her feet as well as her tracheostomy removed. She will also have the cleft in her soft palate stitched up. It will be a busy summer, but over the last few months Nicole has learned to crawl, stand and use her knees!! So she will build up the strength she needs to make it through multiple surgeries. After her tendon surgery the stander purchased for her by Chive Charities will be a “great device to help her get used to the feeling of standing, and overall help her greatly.” Nicole has also started the long process of learning how to eat. Once her trach is removed she will be able to eat by mouth! Because of her new van, Nicole is able to safely travel to places OTHER than just standard doctors appointments and surgeries! She enjoyed a road trip to Montana and has even been to the drive-in movies, which she loved.
