4 Years Later: An Update on Jack S.

October 28, 2025

It’s hard to believe it’s already been four years since we first introduced Jack and his wonderful family to our community. Since then, life has continued to brighten for them.

Fay, Jack's mom, shared that Jack is already 15 years old and he is loving every minute of it! This year, he enjoyed trips to the Great Wolf Lodge and Kings Island with his best friend and their family. They had also hoped to visit Cedar Point, but a small accident at home left Fay injured and the trip had to be postponed. She laughed that “the boys have been bored, but very kind and very patient with their mother!”

Through it all, the family has remained incredibly grateful for the support that has made such a difference in their lives.

“Thank goodness we had the love and support of the Chive Community helping us to get into our house,” Fay said. “The ceiling lifts came in so handy while I was recovering, and having one floor with super wide doors made caring for Jack so easy.”

The family still lovingly calls their home “Jack’s house,” and Fay says, “We couldn’t have done it without Chive Charities' compassion and love.”

The family's “super awesome van” also continues to be a huge blessing.

“It’s never failed us! The van gets us to all of his therapies every week and even to amusement parks when I am fully recovered!”

With several more appointments in Cincinnati this year, Fay added, “Jack will arrive there in comfort. And that is so important. Jack being able to get around comfortably—it is a true blessing.”

In a message of gratitude to our donor community, and all of the family's generous supporters, Fay expressed her deep appreciation for everyone who has been a part of their journey thus far.

“Thank you so much for making Jack’s life so much better! The compassion and love everyone showed us will always have a special place in our hearts. You all rock!”

Although it has been four years since Jack and his family joined our community, his story continues to inspire resilience in us all. It is a beautiful reminder of the impact that our community can have, and the lives that are changed because of it.
