Since we last shared Mario’s story, he’s been on quite the roller coaster. In June 2025, Mario underwent spine surgery, and the months that followed were filled with recovery and adjustment. Despite the challenges, he found comfort and support in the equipment provided by our donors. As Mario shared, the items “have been a godsend during my healing, and even more so now that I’m able to get back to therapy, it truly makes a difference in both my physical and mental health.”

The massage chair has become a part of his routine as well. “I wasn’t able to use it for a few months, but now that I feel a bit more comfortable with my back, I get on it every other day,” he said. And while he continues to work on improving his mobility and strengthening his back and core with limited equipment, Mario remains optimistic: “Slowly but surely though—I have faith I’ll be ok.”

Though the surgery didn’t completely eliminate his back pain, it successfully addressed the radiating pain to his right leg—a significant relief. Mario reflects on the progress with gratitude, asking us to extend his thanks to the donors: “Please thank the donors for this equipment, it’s made my journey tolerable.”

With each day, Mario continues to make strides toward better health, buoyed by the support of friends, donors, and the tools that help him on the road to recovery.
