Dawnavyn’s recovery is a slow but sure process. The latest shunt put in appears to be working great so far, and although she is still taking pain medications- she’s taking way less than she used to. She told us that “her pressures still go up when I try to do too much or if there’s a change in “altitude” (for example going upstairs) but I’m afraid that is something I just have to get used to and live with.”

The seizures are still touch and go, but she has learned a lot of control. Now she can tell if one is coming on or she’s too stressed, too emotional, too tired, or too hot.
