HUTTO, Texas -- A new athletic field in Hutto is giving parents peace of mind and children the time of their lives. Children who may never get to play in traditional sports leagues have a chance to shine.
"It's amazing being out here, because the other field was an adult field, so the bases were spread apart, and so, he'd get kind of tired going from base to base," said Rocky Mojica, the father of 4-year-old DJ, who was diagnosed with brain cancer at 17 months old. "From then, he's had four brain surgeries, chemo, high dose chemo, stem cell transplant, radiation..."
But at the field, DJ is just another kid. Central Texas Ability Sports wanted to build an ability field for kids, so they reached out to the Chive Charities for shirts. Then, the dream took off....
