The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation (CRSF), in partnership with Central Texas (CTX) Ability Sports, will on Sept. 20 cut the ribbon for the official opening of KCCO Ability Field in Hutto, Texas. Made in part by a major gift provided by Chive Charities, the new facility will provide children with physical and intellectual disabilities a safe place to play team sports and participate in educational and character development programs.
Speakers include Founders of theCHIVE, John Resig and Leo Resig; Chive Charities Executive Director, Brian Mercedes, CTX Ability Sports Executive Director, John Lorek; Pastor David McClain of Bridge Community Church; and Kevin Bingham, COO, Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation.
KCCO Ability Field is located at the site of the new Bridge Community Church on County Road 138 in Williamson County. The facility will impact children and their families by providing the proper environment where children can play baseball in a barrier free environment. For these children, team sports will provide opportunities for them to grow physically, socially and emotionally and allow them to build social skills through peer interaction.
