SIDNEY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT)--A Sidney family was faced with an impossible decision when their little girl was just 3 years old.
Rozlyn had been diagnosed with Rasmussen Encephalitis, and was one of only 500 people worldwide who lived with the disease. It caused her to have debilitating seizures, and her parents were faced with an impossible choice: let them continue as long as Rozlyn's body could take it, or let doctors remove half her brain.
After the surgery, her eyes could no longer see the left side of her world, and she never gets tired because the part of her brain that would normally tell her that she needs sleep is gone. Each night, she uses a sleeping machine because if she didn't, she would stop breathing about 100 times a night.
Rozlyn had more than a dozen seizures per day so doctors disconnected the right side of her brain. Nine months later, Roz was back in dance class and spunkier than ever. @chivecharities

However, none of that stopped her as she defied the odds. Rozlyn went back to tap dancing 9 months after the surgery, can speak and read, has relearned how to run and walk and never uses the word can't.
Austin-based non-profit Chive Charities was told about her story, and wanted to do what they could to help the 8 year old's family. So they made the trip up from Texas to meet Rozlyn and her family, and surprised them with the news that they are launching a flash charity campaign for them to help them get a new car, and raised $37,000 in just a few hours.
