It's bad enough to have one of the most painful rare medical conditions in the world, a debilitating disease called Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). But when you add a mold-filled home to the equation, it becomes a nightmare that seems never-ending.

Carena is just 23 years old, and what she's experienced in her young life is beyond what most of us could imagine. In 2015, Carena's father was murdered in a home invasion. Shortly after his death, Carena began to experience intense pain and excruciating jolts throughout her body and was eventually diagnosed with CRPS. Her life could easily be split between what happened before and what came after.

Before: She was very sociable and heavily involved at school. She was part of the Key Club, volunteered at food banks, and played the clarinet. She loved to sing and spend time with her friends and loved ones.

After: Carena is fully bedridden and unable to do much of what she could before this disease changed everything. Worst of all, her home has been impacted by water damage and mold, both of which continue to threaten her health and life. She cannot get better in this house. No one could.

Her mom is now her full-time caregiver, and she's dreaming right along with her daughter. They envision a house free of mold, leaking ceilings, and crumbling bricks. They envision a safe space to spend time together, not afraid to breathe in the air around them. They envision Carena healing and having a brighter future.

With your support, those dreams can become a reality. Join us today as we build a safe space for Carena and donate below.
